Welcome to St. John's, Lodi
Inviting You to Participate Fully

All are welcome in this community of faith, hope, and love.  We trust that you will experience Christ’s
presence among us.  We believe that God is commissioning us to celebrate and extend the love of
Jesus Christ through strong liturgy, beautiful music, and meaningful education for all ages.

Worship is the most important thing we do.  Through worship, God defines who we are and
empowers us to love neighbors near and far.  Our encounter with the risen Lord, Jesus Christ,
also inspires us to care for each other and to enjoy one another’s company.

Our mission and ministry radiate from the baptismal font and altar.  Extending beyond this liturgical
worship are many ministries, some of which are described below.

Please join us for worship at St. John’s.  You may contact us at the office Monday through Friday,
9am to 4pm, at 369-3381, or at office@stjohnsoflodi.org, or you can

Reaching Out with Compassion

We reach out with compassion in many ways: disbursing donated food,
holding blood drives, contributing funds, undertaking a thirty-hour
famine, and sewing or knitting clothing for overseas missions, for
example.  We share Christ’s love by providing meals, sending cards,
and making calls.
Many members also serve Christ by volunteering in ministries that sustain our vitality and parish life,
such as gardening, ushering, singing, teaching, or helping in the office.
St. John’s offers a wide range of educational
opportunities for all ages.    Our children learn about
the Bible and our Christian faith through VBS, Godly
Play, the preschool class, Choristers, Summer Music
Camp, and seasonal celebrations.  Teens enjoy a
handbell choir, serving as acolytes, and Youth Group,
with its games, Bible study, and special outings.

Adult education includes several small groups that
study the Bible and other topics of interest.  In
addition, we hold occasional midweek classes, such as
“Positive Parenting,” “The Gospel through the Music of
U2,” and “Great Figures in the New Testament.”  We
also hold retreats for both men and women.
Growing in Faith
St. John’s is renowned for being a warm and
welcoming congregation.  We celebrate the love of
Christ by caring for each other and having fun
together. Social events include concerts, picnics,
formal teas, men’s barbeques, receptions, meals,
and Sunday-by-Sunday fellowship after worship
services.
